New Communications Technologies, have filtered out into the 21st Century much like blood running through veins, sustaining and educating all communities through out the world. Previously deprived communities are no longer caged from the outside world, and now have access to world news and views. Most governments plan to lay broadband cables through all major areas, so the people may be connected to the best health care, education and government services. These new developments are great, as they will upgrade those that require it.

However, with everything great comes some pitfalls. Addiction being one of them. Just this month the news was inundated with reports of people being addicted to digital games with dire consequences. Chris Staniforth died this month after playing his X-box for 40 hours. We can already see this type of addiction in our children, most two year old's are iphone-pros and I have not met a 5 year old that has not used 'google'.Today children can't even wait for breakfast to be served without, playing a game on their phones.

What will happen once the cables are laid? Once every television becomes a PC? I hope by then, there is a solution to such addiction, may it be by parents being more vigilant or by individuals taking heed before its too late. So that we may be uplifted by such technology, and not defeated by it.
